Press and hold Fire Warning Indicator TEST button and confirm that FIRE caution light illuminates. Release button afterwards
Set Caution/Warning Lights Switch to TEST, then back to RESET. On the glareshield, Master Caution light will extinguish, but LOW RPM light will remain illuminated

ENGINE START-UP
Set Throttle to IDLE-START position
Monitor DC Voltmeter for sufficient battery voltage. Battery starts can be made when voltages less than 24 volts are indicated, provided the voltage is not below 14 volts when cranking through 10% N1 speed

Press and hold the starter switch
Wait until N1 (Gas Turbine Speed) RPM reaches 15 %. Check visually that
the main rotor is turning as N1 reaches 15 percent. If the rotor is not
turning, abort the start.
At 15 % N1 RPM, throttle up to IDLE-STOP (START) position
Engine lightoff occurs. Monitor EGT for any sign of a hot start

Wait until N1 RPM reaches 40 %. At 40 % N1 RPM, release start switch
Do not hold the starter switch for more than 1 minute
Wait until N1 RPM reaches 68-72 %. At 70 % N1 RPM, slowly throttle to FULLY OPEN
